We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our collaborative and values-driven People & Culture team. In this important role, you'll provide essential HR support to schools across our network, ensuring seamless and compliant employment processes.

The Position

  • Title: HR Coordinator
  • Classification: CEO Administration Level 4 (CEMEA 2022)
  • Salary per year: $89,312
  • FTE / Hours per fortnight: 1 FTE / 76 hours per fortnight
  • Employment Status: Ongoing
  • Location: Bendigo,  Tatura or Wangaratta
  • Other Requirements: WWCC, National Police Check

About the Role

Reporting directly to the People Operations Lead, the HR Coordinator plays a key role in preparing and managing employment contracts and letters for both new and existing staff. You’ll act as a first point of contact for general HR enquiries, providing clear and accurate advice on policies, processes, legislation, and enterprise agreements—particularly around classifications and remuneration.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing employment contracts and related correspondence for staff appointments and changes
  • Responding to Tier 1 HR enquiries with accurate and timely information
  • Interpreting policies, legislation, and enterprise agreements related to employment conditions
  • Supporting schools with onboarding processes, compliance checks and pre-payroll requirements
  • Ensuring employment documentation is accurate, compliant, and payroll-ready

You’re an organised and responsive HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll bring a strong understanding of HR practices, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality support to school staff and leaders.

You’ll also bring:

  • Previous experience in a HR coordination or administration role
  • Strong working knowledge of employment contracts, policies and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear, supportive advice
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and service delivery
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data management

The CESL Office Team comprises of close to 150 employees working across 7 key functional areas, supporting over 50 schools and early childhood centres within the Sandhurst Diocese. We are a supportive and friendly team who are committed to working collaboratively with our schools to achieve the best outcomes possible for our students. With office locations in Bendigo, Wangaratta and Tatura.
