As the Deputy Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the school by working closely with the Principal to bring the school’s vision to life in alignment with Catholic teachings and the mission of Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd (CESL). You will lead with energy and purpose to drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning, wellbeing, and community engagement, overseeing curriculum innovation, staff professional growth, and student achievement. You will champion a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive, build strong partnerships with families and the wider community, and ensure high‑quality pastoral care and wellbeing supports. You will also contribute to the effective day‑to‑day operation of the school through leadership of staffing, timetabling, compliance, and resource management, and confidently act as Principal when required to ensure continuity and excellence in leadership.

About you:

  • You live out the guiding beliefs and values of the Catholic Church
  • Have proven leadership experience in educational settings, with a focus on collaboration and innovation.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Hold an Accreditation to teach and/or lead in a Catholic school, with current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Hold Post Graduate studies in Leadership and/or Learning and Pedagogy or are willing to obtain.

 

Position Details:

Title: Deputy Principal 

Classification: Deputy Principal Category B

Annual salary: $128,908 - $132,650

Hours: Full-time - 38 hours per week

Employment Status: 6-year tenure (January 2027 to January 2033) with underlying and ongoing teaching position 

Location: Numurkah

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across over 50 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese.
