Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL) is seeking a ICT Helpdesk Officer to join our ICT Team. This is an exciting ongoing opportunity reporting to the ICT Manager.

The ICT Helpdesk Officer provides first-line technical support to end users, acting as the initial point of contact for ICT incidents, service requests, and access enquiries. This role focuses on delivering timely, customer-focused assistance across core devices, standard applications, and business systems, while ensuring issues are accurately logged, prioritised, and resolved within agreed service levels. Where incidents require deeper technical investigation, the Level 1 Officer escalates to Level 2/3 support with clear documentation and troubleshooting notes and contributes to continuous improvement by maintaining knowledge articles and identifying recurring issues.

About The CESL Office

The CESL Office Team comprises of close to 150 employees working across 7 key functional areas, supporting over 50 schools and early childhood centres within the Sandhurst Diocese. We are a supportive and friendly team who are committed to working collaboratively with our schools to achieve the best outcomes possible for our students. With office locations in Bendigo, Wangaratta and Tatura.

About You

  • A good understanding of common IT hardware, software, and network systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve basic problems using standard procedures and tools.
  • Technical support knowledge and skills across the Microsoft Desktop operating environments and Microsoft 365
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and respond to queries in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts in simple and clear terms to non-technical users.
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other relevant qualifications and certifications
  • Microsoft certifications would be highly regarded
  • Experience in an environment and an understanding of educational cloud-based applications and services would be highly regarded
  • A willingness to learn new skills and technologies, and to keep up to date with the latest developments and trends in the IT industry.
