Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL) is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Operations ICT team. This is an exciting ongoing opportunity reporting to the Systems Manager.

The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring security events and performing in-depth analyses of potential incidents throughout the organisation. Key duties include overseeing security monitoring, detecting threats, managing and maintaining security devices, coordinating incident responses, and conducting both threat intelligence and assessment activities.

This position also serves as an advisor and guide for internal stakeholders on cyber security issues when needed. In addition, the analyst manages and maintains ICT security policies, along with the processes and procedures that underpin cyber security within the organisation.

About The CESL Office

The CESL Office Team comprises of close to 150 employees working across 7 key functional areas, supporting over 50 schools and early childhood centres within the Sandhurst Diocese. We are a supportive and friendly team who are committed to working collaboratively with our schools to achieve the best outcomes possible for our students. With office locations in Bendigo, Wangaratta and Tatura.

About You

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other relevant qualifications and certifications/ and or at least 5 years’ relevant work experience
  • Possess Industry Certification for example Blue Team Level 1 (BTL1), CompTIA Security+, and vendor certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)) and/or equivalent qualifications.
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills, and the ability to resolve complex problems.
  • Knowledge and experience in the identification and management of information technology risks and security vulnerabilities, relevant to on-premises and cloud-computing environments.
  • Well-developed written communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult with internal and external clients, stakeholders and business partners. You need to have the ability to synthesise, present and communicate security and technical information in business language to users and executives.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and respond to queries in a timely manner
  • A high level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and technologies, and to keep up to date with the latest developments and trends in the IT industry.
  • Personal qualities of collaboration, solutions-focused, positive, and friendly
  • Works autonomously, prioritises effectively, and collaborates well across teams.
