Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL) is seeking an Aboriginal Education Officer to join our Aboriginal Education. This is an exciting, fixed term opportunity reporting to the Aboriginal Lead.

The Position

  • Title: Aboriginal Education Officer
  • Classification: (CEMEA 2022) Education Officer
  • FTE / Hours per fortnight: 1.0 / 76 hours per fortnight
  • Employment Status: Fixed Term (End Date: 4 June 2027)
  • Location: Bendigo, Tatura, Wangaratta
  • Other Requirements: VIT/WWCC, Driver’s License
  • Potential start date: 8 June 2026

About The CESL Office

The CESL Office Team comprises of close to 150 employees working across 7 key functional areas, supporting over 50 schools and early childhood centres within the Sandhurst Diocese. We are a supportive and friendly team who are committed to working collaboratively with our schools to achieve the best outcomes possible for our students. With office locations in Bendigo, Wangaratta and Tatura.

About You

  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cultures.
  • Cultural awareness to engage CESL schools, school communities to build strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and their communities
  • Be formed and informed so as to incorporate the Aboriginal perspective respectfully and accurately across the curriculum as outlined in the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Ability to support and advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners, their families and school initiatives

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across over 50 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese. 

Magnify Sandhurst will be introduced across 2025 to 2027, with each phase designed to bring measurable improvements in each learning environment. 

Magnify Sandhurst is set to transform learning for students with more specific and explicit teaching practices, bringing greater consistency and a more predictable and effective education experience for all students.
