Procurement Category Advisor

Bendigo or Tatura | Full-Time | Ongoing 

Classification: CEO Administration Level 5 Subdivision 1

Salary per year: $100,149

The Procurement Category Advisor plays a key role in delivering strategic procurement outcomes across ICT, Capital Planning and Infrastructure categories, ensuring value for money and effective supplier partnerships.

This is an opportunity to shape a role, build capability, and influence how procurement is delivered across a network of 51 Catholic schools a throughout Central and North Eastern Victoria. 

About this Role

  • Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Category Advisor is responsible for managing strategic ICT, Capital Planning and Infrastructure procurement activities and associated supplier contracts.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to develop category strategies, sourcing plans and procurement solutions that align with organisational priorities and governance frameworks.
  • Provides strategic commercial advice, market insights and supplier performance recommendations to support informed decision-making and value creation.
  • Leads end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, tendering, contract negotiation, supplier management and contract renewals.
  • Ensures procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, governance requirements and risk management frameworks.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation and service excellence.
  • Conducts market analysis and category reviews to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and commercial benefits across ICT and infrastructure spend categories.
  • Contributes to the mission and values of Catholic Education Sandhurst, supporting a culture of integrity, collaboration and service to school communities.
