Instructional Coach - Culture and Pedagogy

The role of the Instructional Coach - Culture & Pedagogy is highly relational, providing the opportunity to model ‘right relationship’ with everybody involved in our community. You will promote an inclusive environment where each student is encouraged to feel a strong connection to their year level, their peers and the College. This role is central to the development of each student and the College as a whole. Instructional Coach - Culture & Pedagogy is an ambassador for the College as they will be engaged in frequent communication with our students, their parents/guardians, external agencies and organisations.

The Instructional Coach - Culture and Pedagogy will be a key driver in the implementation of the Sandhurst Magnify Framework, particularly in the areas of calm learning environments to improve student outcomes. This will include:

  • Building staff capacity to engage our students in their learning and become more independent learners
  • Building staff capacity to create and maintain calm learning environments.

The Instructional Coach - Culture and Pedagogy will:

  • work closely with the Data Coordinator to present various data sets, and assist with the interpretation, for staff and teams as required
  • assist in the delivery of the Instructional Coaching Program through the promotion of classroom drop-ins, classroom observation, group rehearsal, and data analysis inclusive of student voice.
    work with the staff to identify and promote Tier 1 and Tier 2 supports (for both staff and students) as part of the Instructional Coaching team
     support the mentorship of PTT and provisional VIT staff, and pre-service teacher placement
  • Model, promote and engage in the College’s SPARK values to assist in understanding by both staff and students.

Other specific responsibilities will be directed by the Deputy Principal - Learning and Professional Practice and Deputy Principal - Student Wellbeing and Development, and these will be administered and organised at regular meetings throughout the year.
