About St Patrick’s Tongala

St Patrick's is a Catholic Primary School, with 87 students enrolled from Foundation to Grade 6. The Brigidine sisters opened the school in 1959 and conducted the school until the end of 1982. St Patrick's is located in Mangan Street in the township of Tongala. Students come from the Tongala township and surrounding rural areas.

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across over 50 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese. 

Magnify Sandhurst will be introduced across 2025 to 2027, with each phase designed to bring measurable improvements in each learning environment. 

Magnify Sandhurst is set to transform learning for students with more specific and explicit teaching practices, bringing greater consistency and a more predictable and effective education experience for all students. 

The Magnify Sandhurst program combines evidence-based practices in teaching and learning to support each student's unique needs, strengths, and goals, focusing on strengthening core areas like literacy and numeracy, building supportive classroom environments, and integrating Catholic values in daily learning.
