St Mary’s Primary School is seeking a Education Support Officer to join our friendly school environment. This is an exciting fixed term/part-time opportunity to be part of Catholic Education in the Sandhurst Diocese.

The Education Support Officer will support the delivery of the MultiLit intervention program and provide general classroom assistance to enhance student learning. The role involves working with students in small groups or one‑to‑one, implementing structured literacy sessions, and supporting teachers with day‑to‑day classroom activities. The successful applicant will be committed to evidence‑based practice and helping students achieve positive learning outcomes.

  • FTE / Hours per fortnight: 0.50/ 38 hours per fortnight
  • Employment Status: Fixed Term until 18 March 2027
  • Other Requirements: WWCC, National Police Check
  • Potential start date: 23 March 2026

About You

  • Support the delivery of the MultiLit intervention program, implementing structured, evidence‑based literacy sessions with small groups and individual students.
  • Apply principles from the Science of Learning—including explicit instruction, guided practice, and cumulative review—to reinforce effective teaching and learning routines.
  • Assist teachers in the classroom by supporting differentiated learning activities, promoting student engagement, and helping maintain predictable, well‑structured learning environments.
  • Monitor and record student progress during MultiLit sessions, providing timely feedback to teachers and contributing to data‑informed decision‑making.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to create a supportive, inclusive environment that fosters positive learning behaviours and helps students achieve targeted literacy outcomes.
