Communications & Social Media Officer

This is a fixed part-time position over five days commencing January 2026

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual with demonstrated communication and media experience to join our team! You ensure the prompt and accurate dissemination of information to the community and key stakeholders using a range of mediums.  The successful applicant will have extensive experience in communication, marketing and/or social media.

A passionate and proactive approach, strong verbal, writing and editing skills, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy, high level computer literacy and a commitment to working as part of a team will be essential.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage printed and online content by sourcing, writing, editing and proofreading across a range of internal and external communications including all correspondence, printed publications, website and social media ensuring brand consistency and high standards
  • Manage internal communications, ensuring clarity, consistency and impact
  • Get creative with social media by producing engaging content—think graphics, editing and creating reels, and capturing amazing moments at our college and during extracurricular activities
  • Engage with followers, manage comments, DMs and mentions across platforms, and proactively engage with aligned creators to help grow our community
  • Manage social calendars, schedule and publish posts using social media tools
  • Manage and update our website content
  • Able to work as a member of a small team as well as autonomously as required
  • The ability to relate to and work effectively with a diverse range of people
  • Demonstrated ability to work with strict deadlines
  • Assist administration team with ad-hoc tasks

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in professional writing and social media with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and timely communication materials.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy to assist with the development of high-quality content across a range of formats.
  • Confidence, flair and experience creating and managing content for multiple platforms – print, digital, and everything in between.
  • A collaborative, positive approach and the ability to meet deadlines.

 Desirable:

  • A qualification in Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design
  • Ideally has a background in Marketing, Comms or Design

This is a 50/50 role split between admin support and social media content creation. You’ll be part of a small, friendly team doing real work that matters to our College Community.
