The Opportunity
Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Wellbeing Curriculum and Engagement Education Officer (ATSI) to join our team. This role supports the development and implementation of a wellbeing curriculum and student engagement strategies, focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students, as well as students requiring additional support.

You’ll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with school staff, leaders, and parents across our network of schools in fostering environments that promote positive student wellbeing, high attendance rates, and culturally safe learning spaces. 

As the Wellbeing Curriculum and Engagement Education Officer (ATSI), you will:

  • Implement Tier 1, 2, and 3 wellbeing interventions to support student engagement and attendance.
  • Provide personal programs for students requiring additional support.
  • Develop and implement a system-wide wellbeing curriculum.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure culturally safe and inclusive environments for ATSI students.
  • Offer training for school leaders, teachers, and allied staff on responding to wellbeing needs and creating culturally safe spaces.
  • Support schools with attendance monitoring and implementing system-wide improvements in student duty of care policies.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions for complex student wellbeing challenges.

You will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Education.
  • A deep understanding and demonstrated knowledge of ATSI culture and tradition
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing student wellbeing and attendance strategies.
  • Strong understanding of educational policies, Duty of Care requirements, and evidence-based practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups, including school staff, leaders, parents, and students.
  • A commitment to Catholic education and willingness to work within the Catholic ethos.
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration and a current unrestricted Victorian Driver’s Licence.
