St. Mary’s School, Rutherglen is seeking a LEARNING SUPPORT OFFICER to join our friendly school environment. This is an exciting ongoing opportunity to be part of Catholic Education in the Sandhurst Diocese.

Learning Support Officer
The Position

  • Title: Learning Support Officer
  • Classification: Category B Education Support Level 2
  • Salary per hour/year: Range Min: $56019-Max: $71742
  • FTE / Hours per fortnight: 32
  • Employment Status: Ongoing
  • Location: Rutherglen
  • Other Requirements: WWCC, VIT, National Police Check
  • Potential start date: As soon as possible

About You

  • You bring a passion for fostering a love of learning.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with school leadership and staff.
  • A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos and values of our school.
  • Experience in Classroom Learning Support (desirable but not essential).
  • You are a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, ready to step into classrooms and create engaging learning experiences.
  • You hold a Certificate III or IV in Education Support, Disability Support, Allied Health Assistance or Auslan/ Certificate III in Learner Support or willingness to obtain

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across over 50 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese. 

Magnify Sandhurst will be introduced across 2025 to 2027, with each phase designed to bring measurable improvements in each learning environment. 

Magnify Sandhurst is set to transform learning for students with more specific and explicit teaching practices, bringing greater consistency and a more predictable and effective education experience for all students.
