Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL) is seeking an innovative and dedicated Learning Leader to join our Learning and Teaching team in an ongoing, full-time capacity.

As part of a dynamic team of Learning Leaders, this role is central to enhancing educational quality and improving student outcomes across our network of more than 50 schools.

The Position

  • Title: Learning Leader
  • Classification: Education Officer (CEMEA 2022)
  • FTE / Hours per week: 1 FTE / 38 hours
  • Employment Status: Ongoing
  • Location: Bendigo, Wangaratta or Tatura
  • Potential start date: January 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the adoption and integration of Tier 1 and Tier 2 curricula, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and assess intervention effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to support student needs.
  • Design and deliver professional development programs, fostering continuous learning and growth.
  • Analyse student performance data to inform instructional decisions and drive strategic improvements.
  • Work closely with school leaders and staff to ensure cohesive implementation and address challenges.

Key Capabilities and Requirements:

  • Master's degree in education or related field.
  • Extensive experience in curriculum development, educational interventions, and data analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; deep commitment to Catholic Education values.
  • Strong understanding of Catholic teachings and traditions.

About The CESL Office

The CESL Office Team comprises of close to 150 employees working across 7 key functional areas, supporting over 50 schools and early childhood centres within the Sandhurst Diocese. We are a supportive and friendly team who are committed to working collaboratively with our schools to achieve the best outcomes possible for our students. With office locations in Bendigo, Wangaratta and Tatura.

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across over 50 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese. 

Magnify Sandhurst will be introduced across 2025 to 2027, with each phase designed to bring measurable improvements in each learning environment. 

Magnify Sandhurst is set to transform learning for students with more specific and explicit teaching practices, bringing greater consistency and a more predictable and effective education experience for all students. 

The Magnify Sandhurst program combines evidence-based practices in teaching and learning to support each student's unique needs, strengths, and goals, focusing on strengthening core areas like literacy and numeracy, building supportive classroom environments, and integrating Catholic values in daily learning.
