St. Peter’s is seeking a Deputy Principal to join our diverse inclusive school environment. This is an exciting, fixed term opportunity to be part of Catholic Education in the Sandhurst Diocese.

Please note: this position has an ongoing teacher contract in place.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership
    • Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement the school’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment with the mission of Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd (CESL) and Catholic values.
    • Lead school-wide initiatives that promote continuous improvement in student outcomes, teaching practices, and community engagement.
  2. Educational Leadership
    • Oversee the development and delivery of a rigorous, inclusive curriculum that caters to the diverse needs of all students, including neurodiverse learners.
    • Foster a culture of professional learning, supporting staff to enhance their pedagogical skills and reflect on their practice.
  3. Community and Pastoral Care
    • Ensure a nurturing, inclusive school environment that fosters the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with families and the local Catholic community, ensuring their active involvement in school life.
  4. Operational and Staff Management
    • Support the Principal in the day-to-day management of the school, including staff recruitment, resource allocation, and scheduling.
    • Provide leadership and guidance in the development and review of school policies and ensure compliance with CESL and regulatory requirements.
  5. Student Growth and Development
    • Lead initiatives that promote student growth, including the use of data to track and enhance individual student progress.
    • Foster a growth mindset across the school, ensuring that students are challenged and supported to reach their full potential.

About St. Peter’s

St. Peter’s Primary School is a vibrant co-educational institution located in North Bendigo, serving approximately 135 students across 11 classrooms, predominantly comprised of composite classes. Established in 1972, our school is proudly part of the St. Killian's Parish community.

• You are committed to the well-being of students, with a proactive approach to supporting their social, emotional, and academic growth.

• You have a demonstrated capacity to lead and manage school operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and statutory requirements.

• You have experience in policy development, human resource management, and organisational leadership, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• You are passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment, fostering high expectations and ensuring child safety in all school activities.

• You hold current VIT registration and have the relevant accreditation to teach and lead in a Catholic school.

• You have a commitment to ongoing professional learning, always striving to improve and adapt in response to changing educational needs.

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across over 50 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese.
